Customer Reviews

Customers that bought Chicken Soup For Soul Puppy Food all have very positive reviews about this particular brand. I do not think I saw any single negative review besides one customer tat said the size of the meal was not large enough for his older puppy. Do not take my word for it but look at what some of the customers say about this amazing puppy meal.

Allyson G. Ward said the following on first of March:

“This is a great alternative to a lot of crappy foods out there, it is so much better than anything you are going to find anywhere else!”

Dangstef gave the food a five star rating and said this:

“Bought for my puppies, first had them on Eukanuba then switched them over to this after doing further research, I was dedicated to royal canin with my adult pups earlier on before switching all to Eukanuba. They all are eating chicken soup now; I have my adult dogs on the weight management and my 2 pups on this. They love this stuff! Eukanuba and royal canin have a lot of product in them that is not very good for your dog. This was the only food at a reasonable price that had great quality I could find. I would recommend this to anyone”

Another satisfied Amazon Customer that did not want to leave his/her name said:

“My puppies and dogs love this food. I did research on dog food advisor and found this type of food to be the best price for its quality and I gave it a try. Even my older dog got into this puppy food and I was afraid for stomach sensitivity but she had zero problems. I have been buying these bags of chicken soup to feed my puppy ever since and I like its high quality.”

Customer Review

Mrs. Babs C

“I’ve always known my German had a  sensitive stomach. We had her on another brand’s “sensitive stomach”.

She had the worst farts. I’m not kidding. The kind that hit you as you’ve run into a solid wall of stink. Because of all the other digestive issues she previously had, I was scared – but, had to try something new.

We slowly mixed the food to transition. Once it was more than 1/2 of Royal Canin, we could tell the difference. Now it seems like there is no gas unless we try and give her a new treat. She didn’t seem to have any problem tolerating the transition. I also swear she is just a little more spunky than usual.”

A: If you are making a transition from one bag to another. You should consider mixing the new meal with the current feed. This way, there will be a gradual transition from one meal to the other. Customer Review

Amy Moravick

“Have two Danes and a Golden doodle. They have been on this brand since puppies. My oldest Dane will be 10. Golden doodle nine and other Dane 4. I also buy soft food and treats. I don’t feed them anything else, and they have lived pretty healthy lives. It is high protein. I probably need to switch my senior dogs to senior food with less protein. Dogs have lymphomas but are non-cancerous. Not a vet but maybe too much protein as they get older or could be a genetic predisposition. All in all, I would feed any new dogs this food.”

Nutro Ultra Large Breed Dry Puppy Food is a top-rated and holistic food for your dog. Nutro Ultra kibbles are produced through an extrusion process, making the food more nutritious and long-lasting. The manufacturing company uses Vitamin E for natural preservation. This food features three main proteins: Chicken, lamb, and Salmon

INGREDIENTS

High- quality ingredients have been incorporated to meet all the nutritional needs of your dog. This product meets the requirements established by AAFCO Dog Food Nutrients for healthy puppies. Let us have a detailed look at these ingredients

1. Chicken

This is the main ingredient found in the Nutro Large Breed Puppy Dry Dog Food. Whole chicken is an excellent source of protein but contains up to 60% moisture. The moisture concentration works to reduce the protein content of the chicken.

2. Chicken meal

This is achieved by cooking the chicken through a process known as rendering. This process reduces the natural moisture of the chicken, resulting in a more condensed protein source. Chicken meal is dried to a moisture level of less than 10%, with a protein content of 65% and 12% fat. It provides more protein than whole chicken.

3. Whole Brown Rice

This is one of the best grains for dogs. It is naturally rich in fiber and other essential minerals such as magnesium, phosphorus, and manganese. Brown rice is relatively easy to digest and will give your pet the energy it needs to carry through the day. Also, whole brown rice is good for weight management as it will make your dog feel full and avoid excessive eating.

4. Brewers Rice

These are the small fragments of rice grains that have been separated from the larger kernels that are milled. In other words, it is the processed rice product do not contain the same nutritional value as whole ground rice. Therefore, Brewer’s rice is regarded to be of lower quality

5. Whole grain oatmeal

This is another excellent source of dietary fiber. Besides, whole-grain oatmeal provides your dog with iron, Zinc, Manganese, B vitamins, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids. You are advised to cook the oatmeal before giving it to your dog. Also, ensure you serve your dog oatmeal made from whole grain oats as processed grains are less nutritional.

Ingredients in this product have been listed depending according to their pre-cooked weight. Therefore the first five components are the most important. However, the rest of the ingredients have also contributed significantly to the overall quality of this dog food. Let us review more elements.

6. Lamb meal and salmon meal

These incredible sources of protein have been produced through the rendering process. They have a reduced natural moisture level which results in highly condensed protein sources. Salmon is also a good source of Omega-3

7. Rice Bran

In general, rice grains are divided into three components; bran, germ, and endosperm. Bran, which is the outer layer of the grain, is an excellent source of fiber. Also, it provides carbohydrates, fats, proteins, and a wide range of vitamins and minerals.

8. Chicken fat

A source of linoleic acid; a vital omega-6 fatty acid. A mixture of tocopherols has been used to preserve the chicken fat, chief among them being Vitamin E.

9. Pea protein

This product is derived by removing the starchy part of the pea. It provides a sizeable amount of protein. Some people see this as unnecessary plant protein which is lower in biological value when compared to plant protein

10. Sunflower oil

Also preserved with mixed tocopherols. While sunflower does not contain omega-3, it is an excellent source of omega-6 and will provide a hydrating factor, making your dog’s fur smooth and shinier.

11. Whole flaxseed

This is a fantastic source of Omega-3 fatty acids as well as dietary fiber. Also packed with a significant amount of proteins, B vitamins, and several minerals.

12. Dried plain beet pulp

The inclusion of this ingredient in the Nutro Ultra Large Breed Dry Puppy Food has been received with mixed reactions. Some claim that beet pulp is beneficial in digestion and regulation of blood sugar in your pet. However, the opponents do not see any nutritional value in the beet pulp and term it as a cheap and unnecessary filler

13. Fish oil

A good source of omega-3 fatty acids

14. Potassium chloride and choline chloride

They provide potassium supplement and Vitamin B4, respectively.

These are the ingredients that have been compiled to derive this premium food dog. From the analysis, you can tell that the Nutro Ultra Large obtains most of its proteins from animal-based products. This is great because animal-based proteins contain all the necessary amino acids that your dog needs for proper growth and development.
